enable iPhone 5 autoplay pop-up when connected to PC.

Earlier when i had the iphone 4, on connection with my pc it would give me an auto play pop-up and give me an option to automatically import photos and vidoes to my pc.

When i got the iphone 5 i have realized that this option does not appear any more. however i am able to see the iphone 5 as a portable camera on my PC.

The iphone icon that used to appear has also been replaced with the camera icon.

Basically how do i get my iphone to auto play pop-up and ask me what is to be done?

    Have you tried this?

It should work for Windows 7.

As for the icon changing, have you tried this? Prehaps I good idea to have your iPhone plugged in at the same time.

when i right click on the icon and click on properties it does not give me an autplay options in windows7.

if you see the picture posted one has to goto autplay in control panel. but the thing is even here the iphone is not listed under devices.

i am wondering if there is a registry fix for this?

Okay please ensure everything is correct here on your computer and report back in this thread if anything is missing.

Please try all the steps. When you get to step 5, pay extra attention to ensure you don't miss anything.

If that fails to work you could try the following:

I was able to solve AutoPlay issue. My PC was not detecting iphone when I plug it in to computer though itune was able to. So I did two things to resolve it, worked for me, try, may work for you as well.
    1) unplug iphone
    2) go to setting -> general -> reset -> Reset All Settings.
    3) go to setting -> general -> reset -> Reset Network Settings.
    4) Plug iphone to PC and it should show Autoplay screen.

It may also be a good idea to read the comments in the link *source* as it has some good possible solutions not listed in this thread.

If trying the above method don't forget to check the control panel to see if the autoplay option shows up now.

It seems to solve the problem you would need to uninstall the device driver via the device manager and then reinstall it, corrupt driver it seems so I would try this step 5 but if enabling it doesn't work. I'd uninstall the driver and then restart my computer. Just remember to leave you iPhone plugged in throughout uninstalling the driver and reinstalling the driver.

Don't forget to hit that solved button

Hi, I've tried all above suggestions but I cannot get autoplay work every time I plug my iphone 5. I have resetted all settings then network settings then uninstalled the driver then restarted my computer while my iphone 5 was connected. Autoplay still don't come out when I plug my iphone. BTW, I did a reset my pc with factory settings because I had a virus and I think that's when my autoplay started not showing up for my iphone, although autoplay works with my camera and stuff. I've tried connecting my iphone on my laptop and it works just fine so I'm guessing it's my PC that have issues. Itunes recognizes my iphone fina and it does show on my computer drives. I like the autoplay because it organizes the photos well. Any other suggestions?

I having this problem too. Iphone 5 is listed under devices as "unspecified". Doesn't appear under autoplay devices list.
Tried uninstalling the driver and most other options I've come across. Got through to apple support and they weren't able to help and told me to try Microsoft.

Any help would be appreciated as it was always a handy function.

I might also add that this problem only started when I got my PC upgraded from windows Vista to 7. Everything is fine and dandy with the computer.
