    External Sata Cables

I have been searching for external sata cables with latches. The only ones I can find with latches are internal (Type L). The external should be type "I" both ends. Does any one have a link for external latched cables?

    Hello Bob,

I found this one at Amazon. It's a 6' type I eSATA latch cable.

Amazon.com: Premium External Round Serial ATA II (E-SATA II) 300Mb/s Cable w/ Metal Latch Black 6ft: Computers & Accessories

    Hope it helps. :)

    I Missed That

Somehow I missed that. I had searched Amazon. Any way I ordered a couple. They were Sata II (300 kbps). That will fit what I am using now. I'll keep looking for Sata III. I am having a problem keeping my dock connected and it is the cable working out of the port.

Thanks a lot for the link.

Do they have to have the metal latch?

Most eSATA cables have snap lock connections. That'll make find one for eSATA III easier.

    Snap Lock

Not sure what snap lock is. I know the ones I have tend to work loose in the ports on my rig.

Well, I'm not sure of it's official name, but I just call them snap lock connections since the plastic notches on the sides snap when they lock in place when connected. It's not a true lock, but it works for most. :)
