PC doesn't show anything on screen

    PC doesn't show anything on screen


    when i turn on my pc it doesn't show anything on screen like manufacturer logo, bios info, system infos

    my monitor goes like stand by

    i check my monitor its not defective
    it doesnt have virus
    i didnt overclocked it and sured it is properly cooled (39-45 C)

    my cpu spec:
    Pentium 4 1.8 ghz
    512 mb DDR ram
    no v-card
    acer mobo & case

    i think the processor is the problem cause i only turn it on for less that 30 secs and the processors heatsink w/fan goes really hot, am i right???

    Excesive heat could cause these problems. Have you cleaned out dust, etc with compressed air?

    When you say you haven't got a video card, do you mean you haven't got an add-in card and you are using onboard video?

    yes have cleaned it occasionally and it is clean but i dont use compressed air or something

    and i dont use add-in card, Its onboard video

    Technically, you do have a Video Card, its just integrated into your motherboard. The troubleshooting guide linked to above still applies.

    That would be my fault, John, since I was the one who originally responded to the OP. I must have missed the XP Pro in his System Specs.
