Samsung DVD Drive won't install windows 7.

    You are loading a 64bit operating system from what I can tell.

    Go back to your manual.

    Find out the maker of your onboard Sata chipset
    (eg >Promise< or >Silicon Image< for instance)
    Go to respective maker website and download latest 64Bit RAID (not basic) Win 7 driver.
    Unpack/unzip the drivers to a dos formatted usb stick.

    Stick the usb stick in a port and your raid drivers should auto-load if you are lucky as you restart the Win 7 64bit dvd.

    well i finally found the cause. needed to download raid drivers. had to find an online version of the manual since the quick installation guide said reference the CD... sitting here watching windows expand files on OS install

    And, always, always read through the manual ( be it any product) atleast once from the first page to last page.

    yeah it didnt help i was trying to finish the install after working a 3rd shift job...brain definitely could have been clearer
