Laptop won't go into sleep mode

    I have a Sony Vaio VPCEB32FM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
I thought all of my problems were gone, but whenever I try put the computer into sleep mode with any button (the power button or from the start circle), it just turns black and won't go into sleep mode. The power button stays green instead of turning orange (sleep mode).
Any help? Could it be a driver problem?
Please don't suggest going into the Vaio Control Center, because that program doesn't work and always crashes.

I'm currently having the same issue with my 42FM Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit machine. I also cannot get the Vaio Control Center / Vaio Care to work either. Have you ever found a solution to this?

I think I actually may have found a fix! I uninstalled the Vaio Control center and all associated products along with the driver for the mouse (ALPS Pointing Device) and rebooted the computer. When it rebooted it reinstalled the driver for the mouse and I've not had the issue since!
