Close programs to prevent information loss

Hello all,

First things first, here are the specs:
OS: Windows 7 - CPU: Intel Core i3, 2330M, 2.2GHz - Memory: 4GB - HD: 500GB - Model: ASUS A54C

I've had this computer for 6 months. I initially had TrueCrypt encrypting the whole hard drive. The performance was incredibly slow, so 2 weeks ago, I decrypted the drive and completely restored (formatted) Windows, restoring the 2 original partitions. After the restoration, I re-installed Norton 360, Microsoft Office 2011, Google Chrome, Firefox and Spotify. I have not re-installed TrueCrypt.

The computer is still painfully slow. It often crashes when performing simple tasks like web browsing. I am constantly reciving the following error message:

Close programs to prevent information loss.

Your computer is low on memory. Save your files and close these programs:

Spotify
Desktop Windows Manager
Asus Live Update

I'd appreciate any advice.

Instead of filling all your specs in OS section, insert them in their respective sections.

To better help us to help you would you please add your systems specs? Here's how:SystemInfo See Your System Specs Under System Manufacturer/Model Number add whether it is a desktop or laptop and whether self built. Very important

Log in to Seven Forums and you will be able to transfer the info directly to the specs page in your profile from within the System Info app.

After doing this your specs will be available in each of your posts.
Click on My system Specs in the lower left of this post to see how it should look.:)

For your problem, type msconfig in Start, press enter. Go to Start up tab and post a screenshot of that window. In the Services tab check Hide all Microsoft Services and post a shot of that window too.

What security do you have? I have a link to MalwareBytes in my sig, donwload the FREE version and do a full scan. Uncheck Start free trial when you install it.

I agree with Britton about scanning your computer's specs and updating them (automatically, just a few clicks needed with that software).

I'd bet the catch is somewhere in RAM. Can you also please post a screenshot of Performance Monitor (open start menu and write "perfmon" (without ") and once it is open take a screenshot of the tab about RAM usage.
