It's worth a try. sorry guys I'm burnt got to get some sleep. Will check back on this in the morning. Fabe
Ok.. here's what I would do, and it might take a wee bit of time.. I would disconnect all but your main drive... hopefully its the one with the mbr on it... make sure that it is set to master.. insure that it is connected to the IDE cable in the master position ( the first one ) physically remove all other IDE cables from their respective drives, then reboot. This should force the system to recognize your drive as C.... if you succeed, begin the process of adding your hard drives back one at a time, ... let us know if this helps.... I could be too close to some Bozone ...
I literally had to install xp first and then upgrade it. heh
One other Question what is on the Maxtor 300gb that is not showing up ? Files, folders, programs, etc pics, music ?
Ok lets walk throught format on boot up from DVD >>>>
Bios set to boot from cd/DVD as first, HD as second, no others set to boot.
You might have to delete the 2 partitions first before you power off, for the DVD boot-up. Somewhere in the win7 install from DVD there is a format the HD in the lower righ or left hand corner of the screen. Just use this to do a new clean format for the new clean install of win7 Now I'm getting sleepy
Yah it's all our pics, music, videos. etc
so delete both these partitions now and then reboot and install eh?
Sounds good. Thank you for all your help tonight. I really appreciate it. I'll let you know how it goes as I'll be doing it right now. (wife needs the computer tomorrow, and her stuff is on that drive. doh)
