CPU's not showing 8 cores
Let start at the begainning that when I first built the computer it showed 8 cores. Plus I had it showing 8 cores and all the cores were unpark too in task manager. Sent the computer back to the person that I had got if from. I had upgraded it for him. He tried to install the software Utlilties to check and set stuff for the motherboard. Well it went wrong and he did a system restore. From that point on things when down hill. The computer than would not post. So he called me and we got things back up and running.
But now in task manager it is only showing 4 cores, in msconfig it is showing in the boot that he only can boot up to 4 cpu's. In the device manager it is showing 8 cores. We went into the Bios and everything is set right in there. In the Power Options/advanced settings under Processor performance core parking it is showing 100%. The thing is the computer is running fine but in some areas it does show 8 cores. The thing is he lives on the west coast and I live on the east coast. I think there is some setting that have to be change in the registry.
