missing disk in diskpart
when I run diskpart, list disk, disk 0 is the only disk listed. can disk 1 be restored? this occurred after I ran "clean all" instead of "clean". any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello and welcome cre8tor mate have yo tried it in / with another machine?
Run this and see if it picks it up but if DISKPART didn't well.....
http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
clean: cleans first megabyt of physical disk. No parititiosn are listed.
clean all: whole disk is written by zero's. All information is gone forever.
What do you meand by saying "disk 1"? You mean the second physical hardisk in system? So you have 2 physical disks in system?
Why did you want to do clean?
Yes Kat I think OP means that previously the OS drive (C:) was listed as 0 and the secondary drive was the drive 1.
I think too that he was trying to scrub the secondary drive (disk1) for whatever reason.
Personally I like the wipe feature in Partition Wizard it is fairly safe.
But this is looking like it has bricked the drive for whatever reason eh?
One last option is to run a Ubuntu OS form a bootable DVD and see what is listed there.
cre8tor if you want to do that download the OS from here
Desktop contribute page | Ubuntu < set the BIOS to boot from the optical drive and when it boots up clcik on TRY not install and whn fired up any drives attached will show at bottom left of the screen as in my pic
Running Ubuntu wll not affect your Windows install or machine and you can open the drives and folders / files
thanx for the replys. I wanted to clean the disk because of a recurring problem with fatal errors. I re-installed windows several times within two months, and each time the system would run for a while, and then crash. now when I try install I receive (cyclic redundancy check)message. any thoughts. thanks for the help.
