Help on Windows 7 installation on SSD

After cramming a 2TB HDD, a 32GB SSD, a C2D E6600, and a GT640 in my OptiPlex 755, now possibly from the heat, or the lack of power in the PSU, I get frequent BSoDs now. So, I'm considering making a new one. You could see my planned specs in my profile(?), but I'm considering buying a 80GB SSD to make the system faster. Of Course, I will store all other Programs and Data on my HDD (2TB), but I was wondering if 80GB was enough for Windows 7. Would 80GB be enough for Windows 7?

Welcome to Seven forums.
w7 will use around 14-18GB of space but you will want to put program on the SSD as well for performance. I would suggest if you add games to put them on a HDD.

The stock CPU coolers aren't very good and you should get an after market one, such as a CoolerMaster Hyper212 EVO. A quality PSU in the 650W-750W range with a single 12V rail should be used as well.

80GB will be fine if you use the HDD for data and games. I ran Windows 7 Ultimate and a lot of porograms for over a year on a 64GB SSD and never ran out of space. as Britton30 said, get an aftermarket CPU cooler, and a quality brand PSU. Never skimp on the PSU, it is the heart of your system. I always recommend Corsair, Seasonic or antec PSU's. Look at Britton30's and my system specs for an idea of parts. We both have similar systems to what you want.

If this helps:

I run my OS on a 64GB Samsung SSD.
Windows and updates and drivers, have taken 35GB. I have 26GB free space.

I put all my data, AND user folders are stored on a Data Drive (1tb)

Id also recommend a Corsair PSU.

Hi, thanks so much for all of your replies.
As for the SSD, I found a better deal with a SAMSUNG 128GB SSD, so I'm going with that.
The PSU, not expecting such fast feedback for the forum, I went ahead and bought a 700W PSU by Scythe (Japanese make) as it was 80+ Bronze certified, and had a 4.5 star review. Corsair PSU's, due to my location, are relatively expensive now (with the pound getting stronger), and was a bit out of my reach.
If the PSU I bought turned out to be BS, I'll consider installing a Corsair PSU!
For the CPU cooler-I'm not immediately building the PC, so I'll look for good deals on the internet.
Anyway, thanks a lot for your advice.

Is the Zalman Z9 case any good for airflow?
