    Blue Screen of Death twice

I got the BSoD last week. I thought I fixed the issue but apparently I didn't because I left my PC for a few minutes tonight and came back to see it had restarted itself and when I logged back in, Windows displayed a message that Windows restarted unexpectedly. When I looked at the cause, it said Blue Screen. Does anybody have any suggestions for this problem? The last time I got the BSoD, it was a System_Service_Exception error message in the BSoD.
According to the article I read (System Service Exception Where to Start? - Microsoft Community), it was talking about a hardware/security problem...

Try booting in safe mode and do a system restore, you sure it's not overheating?

    Hi codyw :),

We need your mini dump files in order to analyze the problem in depth. Please follow these guides on posting your BSOD files:

Please see attached. I think I followed everything correctly.
No, I don't believe it's overheating. I have a cooling pad underneath it all the time. I read quite a few conflicting articles about this issue and some of them pointed to my security vendor as being a suspect--ESET. To test the theory, I removed it and replaced it with another vendor and so far, I have not blue screened...

    Hi codyw,

I find SwiPEInjDrv.sys as the problem for your BSOD's. I cannot find any reference to this file, and suspect malware or similar PUP (possible unwanted program). Unless you can shed any light on it or know what SwiPEInjDrv is?

Ok to stop your BSOD's firstly navigate to:

    Start> computer> C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ and look for SwiPEInjDrv.sys

Once found right-click and rename to SwiPEInjDrv.sys.old

Reboot the machine and your BSOD's should have stopped.

I will have to do a bit more research as to if we can delete the file after that.

Also i suggest running malware bytes to check your system after renamed file.

Also consider installing Microsoft Security Essentials.
Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software.

I had a feeling it was a security issue. I will see which vendors on VirusTotal knows about the file and try to send it around. I am, indeed, not familiar with the file. I also ran Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro and they both came back clean. If it is a virus, no one apparently knows about it.

    Thanks for your help!

If your BSOD's persit do what i suggested:

    Start> computer> C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ and look for SwiPEInjDrv.sys

Once found right-click and rename to SwiPEInjDrv.sys.old

Reboot the machine and your BSOD's should have stopped.

I have looked and looked and I cannot find that file in the drivers folder. At all. It's not a hidden driver either. Any suggestions?

    Hi,

it may be in system32 folder or windows, or try to do a search for it (make sure files and folders are unhidden), ive just looked at your last dump file and its there...somewhere, unless you have deleted it.

Also look for a process called bash.exe and see if thats on your system:

ctrl-alt-del then click start task manager, click on processes and see if it is listed and post back.

bash.exe is a process belonging to the Cygwin utility. It can also be disguised malware. Download Malwarebytes
    Download and run Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

Also run a full virus scan

Have you had anymore BSOD's? Or is that cleared?

    Let me know the results

    Cheers

Wait a minute...bash.exe...I know what that belongs to...I have Prey installed on my PC. It is anti-theft software and will occasionally activate to "check-in" with my account where I can mark and track my PC if it gets lost or stolen. However, that software isn't new and has been on here for quite some time.
