Hi codyw,

I find SwiPEInjDrv.sys as the problem for your BSOD's. I cannot find any reference to this file, and suspect malware or similar PUP (possible unwanted program). Unless you can shed any light on it or know what SwiPEInjDrv is?

Ok to stop your BSOD's firstly navigate to:

Start> computer> C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ and look for SwiPEInjDrv.sys

Once found right-click and rename to SwiPEInjDrv.sys.old

Reboot the machine and your BSOD's should have stopped.

I will have to do a bit more research as to if we can delete the file after that.

Also i suggest running malware bytes to check your system after renamed file.

Also consider installing Microsoft Security Essentials.

I had a feeling it was a security issue. I will see which vendors on VirusTotal knows about the file and try to send it around. I am, indeed, not familiar with the file. I also ran Malwarebytes and Hitman Pro and they both came back clean. If it is a virus, no one apparently knows about it.

If your BSOD's persit do what i suggested:

Start> computer> C:\Windows\system32\drivers\ and look for SwiPEInjDrv.sys

Once found right-click and rename to SwiPEInjDrv.sys.old

Reboot the machine and your BSOD's should have stopped.

it may be in system32 folder or windows, or try to do a search for it (make sure files and folders are unhidden), ive just looked at your last dump file and its there...somewhere, unless you have deleted it.

Also look for a process called bash.exe and see if thats on your system:

ctrl-alt-del then click start task manager, click on processes and see if it is listed and post back.

bash.exe is a process belonging to the Cygwin utility. It can also be disguised malware. Download Malwarebytes

Download and run Malwarebytes

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer


Also run a full virus scan

Have you had anymore BSOD's? Or is that cleared?
