    2.1 speakers

First of all sorry if my question is on wrong topic.
i have genius 2.1 speakers.the 2 speakers connect in the bass, the bass connect to the power and connect in pc.From be bass come out the volume switcher. The problem is that when i try to increase the volume or decrease it the sound on speakers doesnt balance.I mean that first the left speaker goes loud and the right is low after the left is low and the right is loud and it goes like this untill i find the perfect spot for the switcher(its really sensitive).i have to adjust it to have the volume that i want with both speakers work the same.i try to change the volume from windows, but as i said its really sensitive and i have to do the same thing all the time.
So im asking its the sound card?the speakers?an option in windows?
    need a good advise
    thank you

Do you get a sort of crackling noise when you adjust the control?

It sounds as though you have got some dust or other contaminant in the volume control, preventing the wiper from making proper contact with the resistance track. This used to be fairly common with portable radios in the 70s, where the volume control was a thumbwheel (I've stripped down and cleaned many of these in those days).

Unfortunately, I think the only thing you can do is the same (or replace the control). Do you feel confident in doing that? If not, you should entrust this job to someone who does.

If your motherboard provides the separate sound channel outputs (front, side, centre/bass), then ensure that you get speakers that have the separate inputs. Many 5.1 speakers don't, and they don't give true surround, only simulated.
