    AHCI and Hybrid Sleep

    Hi
    I noticed that after resuming from (hybrid) sleep mode, I couldn't access my second HDD (Maxtor). sometimes it showed the root folder, sometimes not. anyway I had to restart by reset switch as Shutdown/Restart would stuck at "shutting down" message.
    I removed all the USB devices and booted up windows and the problem was gone. The PC functioned properly after sleep mode. I connected a USB device (tried 2 different ones), put the PC into sleep and back on. The problem happened again. I also noticed that the HDD activity LED is solid on!
    After searching the forum I noticed some people have problems regarding AHCI. Therefor I changed SATA mode in BIOS from "SATA->AHCI" to "Native IDE" and now I don't have the issue.
    I don't know if disabling AHCI will have noticeable negative performance impacts.
    Should I seek a solution for this or just keeping AHCI off is the only solution?

    Now my brother's PC, after it wakes from sleep, HDD LED is solid on (no seek noise heard) and PC is unresponsive. I have to hard reset it!

    The problem solved. both mine and my brother's.
    I installed the latest AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller Driver (DriverVer=08/16/2007, 2.5.1540.48) for my PC.
    I also downloaded the latest nForce drivers for my brother's PC.
    Now both computers resume from sleep as they should :)

    Glad to see you found the solution for the issue. :)

    Thanks for your response.
    It's weird that AMD does not provide any South Bridge driver for my chipset on their support page!
    Win Vista 32-bit -> Integrated/Motherboard -> Radeon X1250
    It only lists graphics drivers
    I remember that I've seen something related to SB on their site previously, but can't find it.
