Anyone bought a used Processor from Ebay?

I`ve upgraded the RAM, now I`m looking at going from Intel Dual Core to Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 as another cheap upgrade.

Up till now I`ve only bought new, any issues?
    Do a stress test?

    Motherboard is a GigaByte GA-G33-DS3R

I have purchased many CPU's on eBay, and almost all of them have been used. I have a lightly used, never overclocked Intel Q6600 for sale for $100 (shipped) BTW...

Just do a good check of the seller and you should be okay. I've bought lots of various computer parts and equipment over the years.

    Caveat Emptor as always.

Thanks for the replies, do I need to worry about the sellers static handling?
I always wear an earthing strap when handling memory or processor.

If it has the Ebay guarantee showing then your price plus shipping is covered.

If you find it is not working like they say and if the seller wont cooperate, then you open a case not as described and get a full refund.

I buy a lot of used stuff on ebay.

Be sure the seller lets you return a "DOA" piece of hardware. I've never had a single issue and I've been buying and selling on eBay since 12/98. There are many good sellers and buyers on eBay, just look for them and check their feedback.
