Can I swap motherboards without re-installing Win7?

    I normally run with System Protection off because I am careful about what I download & run and in general like to have the minimum number of system tasks running. But lately I've been running with it on.
    Bcdedit refers to C and BOOT..it's fine. In evelated command prompt:
    Code:
    bcdedit/set  {current}  description  "Windows 7 Home Premium"
    That's just to change the description.

    Allways put system protection on on OS disk!! It isn't a performance issue at all. It can save you a lot of trouble. For example in case of a bad patch.

    I expect no problems after motherboard swap. Of course check device manager afterwards for unknown devices and problems. And check all new hardware. And install motherboard drivers
