Wow!
What a Classy Bunch of Guys!
I'm proud to know all of you.
Glad you're staying TC and don't sweat it. I'm not going to talk about my life but it ain't no bed of roses. This forum as most other forums I frequent is my escape from the crappy world we live in.
Your apology is Too Little Too Late.Awesome, since I mistakenly called you a Kentucky hillbily.
I want everyone to know that I have hurt feelings. And so does Cousin Dad.
We want all to know that we are Proud Tennessee Hillbillies.
I really hope that mistake will not be made again!
According to Jeff Foxworthy, a redneck is someone with a complete lack of sophistication.
For example, do you remember the show called Cheers? Do you remember the waitress named Carla? She's a complete redneck because she has no sophistication whatsoever. So you don't have to have to live a southern state to be a redneck.
In other words, almost everyone's a redneck to some degree. :)
I don't know how to define Hillbilly though. I'll leave that one up to Dennis. hehe
My view of a hillbilly has always been:
The typical Hillbilly lives out away from modern society, in the country or the hills. They have no use for fancy gadgets and technology.
They hunt and/or grow thier own food and supply for themselves off the land without the need for modern technologies.
Not even sure they go by the "law" as many do. No hunting laws etc .. they just govern themselves.
Many may may see them as backwards, un-educated etc. and make fun of them.
But are they really?
think about it. If something really bad were to happen ... lets say a HUGE EMP burst etc that wiped out all technology as we know it for example....
It would cripple our society. People would starve because the stores would close down. Riots, raids etc ...
My bet is the typical Hillbilly wouldn't notice,be affected by it, nor care. Even though it would be crippling to the "modern" world. They already know how to survive without technology and feed themselves.
A seeminly simple task that sadly, very few today know how to do.
Thats how I always seen them :)
