USB Drivers aren't working for my devices.

Hello all and and as a disclaimer please excuse any and all of my ignorance, I am not at all very good with computers, it even took me a minute to figure out my OS lol! but i have a serious problem: My USB drivers are no longer reading my phones and other devices the message i get is "USB Device Not Recognized", When i click the message and go through the troubleshoot it gets no where. It's like my computer doesn't even realize that the devices and drivers are malfunctioning, also i don't know if it is related but it seems like files, apps and folders are constantly being deleted without my consent and no one else has access to my pc. i suspect foul play hidden in my system. Any help would be very appreciated. thank you so much everyone!

    Welcome to the forums!
Have you ran any malware/Virus scans?

    I would suggest malwarebytes. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

    The free version.

Enjoy your evening with the family! If Malwarebytes comes up clean, you could try a a sfc/scannow to check and repair system files in case of corruption. Heres a link to a tutorial on how to do that :

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Hello again! i ran the Malware bytes and it removed a coupe Trojans and PUPs, I ran it a second time and again it found trojans and pups, so it seems to me whatever the malware scan is finding and removing has a way to stay in the system. can u give me a brief explanation of what trojans and pups are?

I also ran the SFC but it seems my computer is now missing a lot (most ><!) of those commands and files.. when i tried to manually run SFC i couldn't even access the operations.

Whatever has happened on my system has erased my hard drive restore points. At this point i'm wondering if there is a way to start windows 7 from the very beginning, like a complete factory reset, and hopefully not be very costly.
