    Help with Turbo Boost

hello. i have an intel core i5 560m clocked at 2.67ghz and up to 3.2ghz turbo... im having a problem where the CPU will NEVER go up to 3.2ghz. no matter what, it moves up to 2.93, and freezes there. i have 3 chrome browsers up with 3 1080 youtube videos playing all onscreen at the same time. cpu usage is up to 98-100% and is at 2.93 ghz. not 3.2!!!! i was rendering 1080p video today, and saving it. cpu was maxed out completely, except frequency. it was stuck at 2.93gh. also no matter what game i play too, it never reaches 3.2ghz...

i uninstalled the driver i orgionally installed, and that dident help at all and computer is on gaming/high performance power plan. any ideas ho to fix this?

ok i think i figured it out. i ran a .bat search on my computer, and it went up to 3.07-3.2ghz BUT core 2 and thread 4 were Parked. i then ran 2 searches one for .zip and one for .bat, and both core 2 and thread 4 became unparked, and it locked at 2.93ghz. so i guess its dependent on how many active cores there are. is there anyway to change this so max is 3.2 no matter what?

I think that is the way turbo boost works ... it enables to boost one core frequency when other core (including virtual core) is off. It is used to increase speed in software that is not optimized to use multi threading, and cant use more than one core. (in dual core CPU)
Other limitation is power consumption and heat.. if both cores are active it uses more power and gets more hot thus turbo boost cant get maximum frequency.
