Windows 7 can't find new hard drive in laptop

How can I cause Windows 7 to recognize a new hard-drive in my laptop?

I know it can be done, but I have forgotten how.

    Thanks for your help.

    Welcome to the Forums :)

You added a 2nd hard drive and windows does not see it ?

Is it seen in the bios ?

Does it show up in disk management ?

    Hello, Addram:

Yes, I added a 2nd physical hard drive, and it does not display when I click on Computer.

I don't know if it's seen in BIOS; I'll check that next time I boot up.

It does show up in Disk Management; I've been reading up on Windows help screens on how to activate a hard disk, but I haven't yet figured it out.

I'd appreciate any help you might offer.

Can you post a shot of disk management ? It probably just needs to be formatted and assigned a letter.
