Alternative to ASUS Striker II Formula

Hi all

This is only a hardware related question so it doesn't have anything to do with Windows 7 but here it goes.
About a year or so ago my network card & implicitly my motherboard got stroke by lightning :|, as I mentioned HERE.

So far it seams to be working OK except the network card and the fact I cannot disable the ROG logo.
However, I was thinking I should consider the fact that it might break some day so I am trying to find a replacement but I haven't found one around.

Can you recommend me one that's still on sale and compatible with my other components?

My system specs are:
ASUS Striker II Formula
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 2.5Ghz
4*2 Gb RAM DDR2 800Mhz
ASUS GeForce 285GTX 1Gb DDR3

Looks difficult.

Here's what my favorite US online merchant has:

Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Motherboards, Intel Motherboards, LGA 775

(Newegg doesn't ship outside the US and Canada. so this is only for reference.)

They're all microATX boards, and are hardly in the same class as a Striker II Formula.

I see a couple of copies of the Striker II Formula on eBay. They are fairly expensive.

I guess the days of Socket 775/DDR2 are largely over.

Sorry that I can't be more helpful.

Thanks.
I planning on changing my system somewhere in the future but I don't wanna end up with a bunch of other components without a use.
I wasn't that cheap when I got it.

Mainstream (on the Intel side) at the moment is Socket 1155, DDR3 memory.

Firewire (IEEE 1394) has largely disappeared. IDE is gone, and boards with no PCI slots are getting to be more common. If you don't need any of these interfaces, you wouldn't need to replace other peripherals if you got a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM.

Thanks bobkn.
As I said, I intend to get a new system in the future(don't know exactly when) and I wanted to make sure this one keeps on going for secondary stuff.
I still have an old Intel P4 with 1Gb DDR and GeForce 6600 that works :)) so I wouldn't mind keeping this one in the same state.
I guess I knew the chances are incredible low to get a new mobo. But I guess it doesn't hurt to try.
