New Bulldozer & Motherboard only 4 cores?

Ok so today i purchased a new motherboard and a FX8350 8 core CPU as well as 6gb ram (for now)
I used an image to restore my SSD drive because the SYSPrep method did not work,,, so anyhow no major deal as far as that goes (i dont think) But windows only shows 4 active cores in task manager as does my All Cpu utillity (gadget)
I veryfied iin my bios that all cores are enabled, i set them to manual and all are enabled.
Im also getting the dreaded installed memory 6.00Gb (4.95 useable)
I went into MSCONFIG boot tab, checkmarked make all boot settings permanent and im still only showing 4 cores here but its also showing maximum memory at 2048. I cranked the memory all the way to 6144 clicked ok and apply then rebooted and checked it again and im still in the same boat no changes were made, something has me locked from changing that.
Any ideas or help would be appreciated!!

    Specs:
    FX 8350 4ghz 8 core
    Asus M5A97 R2.0
    H 80 Liquid cooled
6gb PC3-12800 1600Mhz Patriot Viper II Sector Series
    OCZ Agility SSD
That should cover it for this post if more info needed let me know!

you have a video card ? or is it onboard if it is onboard that is the issue if you have a dedicated card it should read the full 6 Gb

also a bios update may be needed to show 8

In your msconfig Advanced, make it as shown below.

Cool, you're welcome. That works exactly backward to what one would think, gets a lot of people. :)
