5Ghz Dell Inspiron 1501
My Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop can only support 2.4Ghz.
Is it possible to upgrade the hardware so I can support 5Ghz or with it being a laptop, is it impossible?
P.S. Referring to Wi-Fi

Sure, you can get a dual band card, its just a hassle getting to it, so most use usb adapters...
Mangoh,
Your WiFi card is a G card which doesn't go past 2.4GHz. If you want to achieve 5GHz you would have to purchase a USB wireless N card along with a Wireless N router .
I agree with your suggestion it is great. I actually have a Dual Band USB adapter but my brother (owner of laptop) doesn't like it as it involves him having to carry it around, easy to get lost.
I'm asking on the Dell support forum now
Thanks for your reply. I've already got a wireless N router (ASUS RT-N66U).
That's the name I was looking for "Wireless N Card"
Like with RAM you go to crucial, find the type and speed and then order new RAM matching them specs.
Can anyone help me to find exactly what I need to do, like what Wireless N Card do I need?
Link to specs 3/4 down. Can't find page number on Chrome :S
Any USB wireless N card would do. I know Asus has their own USB WIRELESS N card. ASUS - - ASUS USB-N53
@ Roy69 : The link you submitted are not wireless N cards. That would be pointless to install. He has a N router why would he install a G wireless card when he is trying to go for 5GHz speed.
@ Mangoh : If you purchase a USB Wireless N card which is what I recommend you do . You could go inside your router configuration page ( via the IP address and turn on the 5GHZ speed ) the wireless card will pick that up a well due to the fact that its a wireless N USB adapter card.
