If anyone has doubts whether TRIM is enabled or not, just do this:

To turn TRIM OFF, from an elevated command prompt type:
    Code:
    fsutil behavior set disabledeletenotify 1
To turn TRIM ON, from an elevated command prompt type:
    Code:
    fsutil behavior set disabledeletenotify 0
    Regards,
    Golden
Thanks Golden for a reasonably courteous answer:)

I can read is all I can say the other posters and as I am not aware of how the TRIM is invoked I thought the last piece of the message was rather obscure to say the least but there again perhaps I am bit obscure

You have to run it a second time to see if the data/file created in the 1st run NOW has binary 0's.

Your screenshot is from the first execution of the program. You must now run it a second time - after your CPU has been idle for about 20 seconds - to get your results. You generally don't have to do anything to invoke trim before running it a second time. C'mon, man!

This program is definitely barebones with no GUI, but, it works.

Things to keep in mind. Trim might not be (meaning, by design) invoked until the controller sees some number (%) of dirty pages that need to be trimmed. Or, as would be expected, trim background tasks take the lowest priority over other "real" I/Os.

It's a simple but useful utility that's been written here.

Look mate as I said I am not that aware of this operation that's why I asked and now wish I hadn't to be honest. Some of us cannot be as clever as the majority - sorry!!

Sorry - I meant no harm. I must admit that it took me a little while to understand how trimcheck worked when I first tried the program.

I had to run the program twice and it then said "working"

This program MUST be run twice to function.

That's because the first run writes a small amount of data to the SSD. The second run of the program checks to see if that data is still there. If the data is gone, TRIM is working.
