    Which one is better?

    Hey people

I'm new here, basically I want a new laptop, mostly for gaming.

I've got my eye on two different ones,,

    Here's the first one.

This top of the range Sony Vaio E Series laptop gives you a powerful Intel® Core® i7 processor, stunning 17.3 inch HD screen, Blu-ray, a massive 1Tb hard drive, Windows 8 and a 2Gb dedicated graphics chip.

Keep on top of all the action with a great range of social networking options, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

A powerful Intel® Core® i7-3632QM Processor makes easy work of all your multitasking, backed up by a speedy 8Gb RAM and 1Tb (1000Gb) hard drive, giving you room for up to 280,000 digital photos, 250 MP3s, 440 hours of DVD quality video or 120 hours of HD video.

You can also use the built-in webcam for face-to-face chats with friends anywhere in the world via Skype.

The Sony VAIO E Series laptop comes with an up-to-date software package, including Windows 8. Movies and games sound superb thanks to xLOUD and Clear Phase technologies that boost speaker volume levels without distortion.

I would avoid Sony Vaio's at all costs. They usually cost more, and are made poorly.

I would get the Acer. My experience with their products is much better than with Sony, especially their "Vaio" line. Good luck!

Took the words right out of my keyboard there DeaconFrost (and azasdny we seem to have posted at the same time). Ever notice how many of our OP's have problems with them? Seems like every 4th or 5th poster has a Vaio.

Toshiba's are pretty good. Just stay away from Sony, Lenovo and HP laptops. My favorite is Dell, though...

I've had nothing but trouble with Acer products, including two netbooks (both died), a desktop (constantly need repairs), and the keyboard (POS and mouse (another POS) that came with the desktop. You couldn't give me annything from Acer, even to use for target practice. I had good luck with an ASUS netbook and currently am using a Lenovo G570 notebook I'm happy with (my only complaint is I can't permanantly turn off the *&^%$#@! touchpad). Lenovo has replaced the G570 with the Win8 infested G580, though.

None of the listed laptops are close to a gaming laptop. I would advice against all of them and have you build a desktop if you want to have a gaming platform.

There are true "gaming" laptops available, and may or may not fit in your budget. I will also point out that the best gaming experience will come from a desktop. Do you HAVE to have a laptop?
