I Need To Repair My SD Card File System

Hello beautiful people. I seemed to have bricked my SD card. When I slide it in the SD slot, it initially shows only it's grayed out as seen in the picture. It's there for about 2 minutes then it goes away. It's also initially visible in Disk Management listed as Disk 1 then it disappears. I've tried formatting the SD card via command prompt but I kept getting error messages. Can someone please help?

I'm not sure I can be of much help, Harvey. But, have you tried other SD cards in that slot and do they operate correctly? When you first put in the card, you say it is visible for about 2 minutes. Can you access it at all. If you can, right click it and select properties, click the tools tab and click check this drive for errors and check both boxes. See if that helps.

Other SD cards do work. I can't access it at all. When I right click & attempt a disk repair, I get an error message saying windows can't fix errors because it can't access the disk.

It sounds like your computer's SD card slot works well as other cards work fine. You may just be the victim of a dead SD card. You may try to run the error check in another computer to see if a different reader will help it. That's about the extent of my knowledge about SD cards and readers. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Sadly I believe you're right. But, I'm not gonna quit on it yet. I did order a new SD card but, this is a 16 gig so, it's not exactly something I wanna just trash. I tried Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics, Partedit32 & Gparted on Linux Mint & nothing. The Western Digital Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool recognizes it as a USB device with 0 MB of space. I ran write zeroes fast & full & still nothing

Because I have dedicated graphics, it won't work. Same thing with Mac OSX & BackTrack >.< I bought a laptop with dedicated graphics to be ahead of the curve only to be set behind the curve. It'll work on my brother's computer but, I'll have to wait until tomorrow. myself to sleep. I'll post what happens in the morning.
