Dead ram
Thought there was a program in win 7 that shows all the memory slots working or not. Have 12 slots and trying to figure out which module is bad without yanking them out one at a time. Is there one?

You can try this RAM - Test with Memtest86+ and this Memory Diagnostics Tool
Post your results here.
Would like to see which modules are not recognized to move them to another slot. This way can isolate its motherboard or the memory. Will Mem test identify the dead slot?
I know of no program that will just point to a bad ram module or a bad motherboard slot. It's a very slow process.
First I would do the ram test Element7 has posted with all ram installed. If it passes that would be great. If it fails now you have to go through the slow process of removing, moving around ram and testing again until you find the bad ram or ram slot.
We have many members so their might be such a program that I don't know about.

Figured it out. Called a buddy of mine that is one heck of a pc nut. Had a mounting post grounding on the back of the motherboard. Must have missed it when I installed the motherboard. I know in linux there is a command in terminal that lets you know the status of a dimm slot. Just thought there was one for windows. Thanks for the replies.
