    COOLER MASTER Cracked fan. Replacement?

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible with Intel 1366/1155/775 and AMD FM1/FM2/AM3+ - Newegg.com

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible with Intel 1366/1155/775 and AMD FM1/FM2/AM3+

Last night, i was putting together a new rig and accidentally cracked the 120mm CPU fan attached to my heatsink. After searching on newegg for a fan replacement, not an entire heatsink / fan combo, I found myself unable to locate a 120mm fan that is meant for CPU ONLY.

Can someone help me find a 120mm CPU fan that definitely has the clamps that attached to a heatsink? I don't want to waste $$ on something that I'm just going to have to RMA. I had a bad mobo and had to RMA it and I don't want newegg getting upset with me :).

    Thanks guys,
    Bryan

    Look at this one:
EVERCOOL F-EC12025H12BP 120x120x25mm High Speed Double Ball Bearing Fan - Retail - Newegg.com

See if the specs. are similar to the cracked one you have.

I don't see the CPU fan clips on it... how do I know it'll attach to my Cooler Master heatsink?

I have two Hyper 212 Plus HSFs sitting on my shelf at home, so I can check later if you want, but I thought the fan clips could be removed from the fan.

They have a screw that seems to be welded into it and then a padding is glued over that as well. I was thinking of doing the same but it looks like a hassle to put them on another fan... and considering how powerful these are, I want to make sure it's secure.

I think your best bet then would be to call cooler master and see if you can order a replacement fan from them.

That or any 120 mm PWM fan, and use the extra clips that came with the cooler for mounting a second fan on the other side of the heatsink.

Agreed, watch the video on newegg, at 4:20min. it describes exactly this.
Which means no problem mounting any 120mm fan.

I forgot about the extra clips. Maybe that's why I was thinking the clips came off.
