kbrady1979, thanks for the reply. I actually encounter a frequent BSOD before this and it was solved. But the funny thing is, I don't KNOW what solved it. It's like the next day, everything is fixed. I'm not so sure if SSD will defect/fail as frequent as a HDD. Thanks
essenbe, hopefully mine will not encounter any BSOD. What I am actually asking is it USUALLY (ignoring RAM and GC physically damage) system files error that caused BSOD?
Provided the hardware isn't defective, I think driver/software problems account for more blue screens than anything. HDD's are so unpredictable......in my opinion, if they don't fail within the first 30 days, they are likely to run for years. SSD's these days have a longer warranty, and the manufacturers claim a longer Mean Time Between Failure than traditional HDD's I believe.
As Kbrady said, if the software has bad drivers, software conflicts or corrupted system files, yes it will BSOD. But that has nothing to do with the SSD. They will maintain the integrity of the files as well, if not better, than any other hard drive. If there are hardware complications or defects, you will get a BSOD, but again, not because of the SSD.
Probably the only exception to that is if the SSD is defective or is connected to a Marvell Port. marvell and SSDs seem to not get along very well. Connect the SSD to an Intel port and you should have no problem.
