    USB Flash Drive Problems...

I have a Kingston DataTraveler SE6 Thumb Drive (8GB) and when i plug it into the computer, it isnt recognized in the Computer menu, i do hear the *Something has been plugged in* sound, when i plug it in, but it doesnt let me get the information from it, it just sits there... and when i go to device manager i can actually see it, it just wont let me get the data out of it.

Also, the first time i plugged it in it said that it couldn't install the drivers from it, and i don't know how to fix that.

    1. Check whether it appears in Disk Management. If it does not have a drive letter, assign one.

    2. In the Device Manager, where it appears, does it have any yellow exclamation mark/question mark? Right click on the device and then Properties. What does it say under the general tab?

No, the device is fine, no yellow exclamation mark, but when i try to assign a drive letter to it, it says that the device manager or something isnt UP TO DATE, and thats where and cant move any further.

    1. Please post a screenshot of the thumb drive as it appears in the Disk Management.( Please remove all other external drives plugged in.) Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

    2. Please write down the exact error message you get when trying to assign a drive letter and post it. The statement you posted is as good as you had not posted it.:)

    3. Have you tried it on any other PC?

    4. Do other pen drives work on your PC?
