    Bad Mobo? Abit IP35v content.

    Hello again all, ltnp.
I have an abit IP35v mobo that has been working flawlessly for close to 4 years now, but after a brief power outage, it refuses to boot normally. I get 1 long 2 short beeps at post. After some research, it seems to be a video card issue. I put the card (Zotac GF GT220) in another machine, and it works fine. I also tried a PCI card I have kicking around, and that works fine, more or less, given it's age & specs.

I had to rebuild an old XP machine just to get back in business.

I found abit's own forum, but can't register for some reason. (I get to the end of the registration form, and I get an anti-spam question not answered error, even though I have "no" in the question box. ) But that's a different issue.

Is the mobo shot? (I think it may be) or should I try another PCI-e video card first?

Thoughts/advise please. I'd really like to get my main rig back, I'm missing my 7.

Does this mobo have an onboard graphics chip? Well looking it up, it seems it doesn't.

This is what I found out on your beep error...."Indicates a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information". Whick could mean that the BIOS have gotten corrupted. So I would pull the CMOS battery out for 2 minutes and then stick it back in and see it boots up.

Tried that, it came on just long enough to get into BIOS. After resetting and rebooting, it went out again. I did reseat the memory, SATA plugs (tried shifting to other connectors, as well.) and the vid card, no luck. I even checked the cmos battery, it's O.K. I'll try it again, though, just in case I missed something. Thanks.

O.K. Just tried again. Removed Battery ( which measured weak) and replaced it with a good one. Powered up, and got one beep and got into the post screen. Hit Del to get into BIOS and poof, nothing. Screen went blank.

Tried using both reset systems, internal and external. Nada. Got one beep a couple of times, but nothing on the monitor.
Guess I'll have to find a Mobo that will take my CPU and memory, can't afford a new full system.
