ok, i get the windows tone when i plug it in, the Mass Storage Device returns in the device manager and it shows up in the disk drives list in the device manager as well, but i can't see it at all in My Computer or Computer Management>Disk Management
Does it show a drive letter ? Try changing the drive letter . Right click on the drive and choose change drive letter and path
yes. it was showing as I: drive. and i apologize for not seeing this before, but it shows in my computer, however, it's grayed out under Devices with Removable storage and when i click on it it asks "please insert a disk into drive I:"....i did change the drive letter to K: and same result, so i changed it back.
Is there files inside ? You could open up the drive in Diskpart .
Click on the type CMD inside the command prompt right click on CMD under Programs (1) choose Run as administrator . If you get the user access control window click on the yes button . Pic below
Inside the command prompt . Type the commands below and press <ENTER> after each command .
Code:DISKPART LIST DISK SELECT DISK # CLEAN FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK ASSIGN EXIT EXITNote
# is the number of the hard drive . Disk 0 is the first hard drive .
Assign command assigns a drive letter if you want to assign a letter yourself type in this command ASSIGN LETTER=[input letter here ] without the brackets
well, that was interesting. it looks as though its not even recognizing that anything is plugged in.
nope i can't. if i right click it, the only options i have are to change the drive letter/path, eject (which is greyed out so i can't click it), properties, and help.
