You're welcome mate. Don't expect Intel prices to drop much with the advent of Haswell, Sandy Bridge prices are still high.

The height of the Hyper 212 EVO is 159mm so if you case width is 20cm you have only 41mm to play with. That height figure would need to be measured from the surface of the CPU outward to the side panel.

That is exactly why I asked what case was being used. Some suggestion might not fit or the case will be so jammed pack case ventilation will be poor; therefor a air cooled cpu will work poorly.

Hrm, how much more clearance space would be good? I measured again, this time from the base of my current cpu heatsink to the max width and if I estimate a bit for the thickness of the case panel, it looks like it’ll be just under 17cm. Let’s say 16.5cm. This would leave 6mm which seems quite close.

I used a straight edge laid across the opening with the panel off to take the measurement. 6mm would be fine, just so the cooler won't hit the side panel. I have a Hyper 212 EVO myself with about the same clearance, maybe 7-8mm.

Oh okay, sounds good. I measured the space in the same way. Now it's just a matter of time. :)
