A USB cable issue. Advice wanted.

    Yeah, I had some shortish extension cables fail miserably like that. I think it's the shielding, as thicker ones were better.

    If still in the mood for experimentation, you can try tin-foiling them. Should theoretically work.

    No thanks. Project complete. On to the next problem: Why are my digital recordings on my TV cards so bad lately? This takes precedence!
