USB problems...system freezes until drive is dis-connected

Hi Folks
...really fed up with this one, and haven't got a clue what to do

Attempts to transfer files to/from micro Sd card (in USB card reader) result in transfer 'hanging' until USB connection is broken. appears that there is some progress....but painfully slow.

A Geen 'Progress' bar appears in the address bar all of a sudden....I hadn't noticed this before.

Windows 7 Ultimate Retail Box (64-bit installed) + Service Pack 1

Media may have gone bad? I wouldn't trust it and get another one, it happens.
You are probably hitting a bad sector when it hangs, so I'd try to copy smaller amounts off of it.
If this is used in say a camera, then I would definitely toss/replace it once you got all you could.
