    HDD added with Partitions

I have added two additional HDD and portioned one, I would like to transfer all my software onto the portioned one, how do I move all the software programs including Windows 7 over to the 2nd hard drive without having to reinstall the software programs and still have all my settings. Also, I am setting up my HDD's:

1TB - movies, videos, music, and pictures.
300 GB portioned - documents files and software programs.
    86 GB - games.

Your Windows registry will have all of your programs keyed to a certain Disk Drive letter. The one they were originally installed on. Lets say that disk is D: .

You should be able to make the switch as long as the program files are copied to a drive with the same letter. So you could possibly change the drive letter of current D: to anything else, then give the new partition you want to copy to the D: letter, then copy all the files over.

Even better, make a disk image of the current D: drive, change the drive letters, then restore the image to the new D: drive.

Do not delete or change any of the files on the old drive until you are sure that Windows is good with the new drive.
