Take Exception!

Application Error box shows up on boot or return from sleep mode: (X) Exception ERegistryException in module rt170.bpl at 0004E49E. Failed to set data for 'Regcode'. I don't know if this is serious, PC seems to work ok, I sometimes have issues with browsers and most recently Download Accelerator Plus. Also hard to tell if it's rtl70.bpl or rt170.bpl?

How can I add an exception for indexing?
I'm thinking that it must be somewhere in GPEDIT.MSC, but I can't find where. I have an external drive that is driving me crazy. It makes a sound about once every second or two. I believe it's being indexed by Windows Search, because when i stop that service... it stops. I've right clicked on...
