    Lenovo W520 Docking Power Supply

At home, I am using a Docking station (ThinkPad Mini Dock Series 3) which has a different power demand than the W520. The docking station works properly but does NOT charge the laptop. So, I plugged in a spare charger-plug directly into the laptop but it will not charge. My logical guess is that the docking power plug is over-riding the laptop plug. Is there a way around this so that I won't lose power while working from home using the docking station?

I was recommended to purchase 135Watt charger for the dock station. I received it last night and when I went to dock my laptop, I started smelling something burning. THe laptop won't boot up. The fingerprint reader, microphone and CapLok keys are lit but it will not boot.

    Anyone?
