Hard drive initialization question

    Then you may have to recover the data first.

    If you can put out a screenshot on how the external disk appears in the Disk Management, perhaps the other experts may chip in to give appropriate suggestions.

    Hallo,

    My friend is having this problem too..apparently you can backup all the data to use with the same ps3 if you go into a certain menu in the ps3, but it's currently having troubles updating to the latest firmware ( ps3 fat not going past an amount of percent, and then it gets an error message: Error 8002F14E, and doesn't complete updating. )

    I have a picture below on what it shows up as on windows disk management..is there any way to backup all the game saves, data, etc that the ps3 harddrive is using, then try to format the harddrive so that I can update it, and then transfer all that data so its back to the way that it was before this update..?
