    Building a High-end to Mid-end PC

I am planning on building a new PC during the summer, I need a computer that can play games, surf the web play videos and run programs. My Budget is below $1000-$800.

You can get alot of ideas by looking at other members specs. There are so many options.

Looking at other members specs is a great idea. Then go shopping. $800.00 to $1000.00 will not get you to high end. Mid range is iffy.

The 1st thing you have to decide is, whether you want an Intel cpu or an AMD cpu. Then you can start looking at motherboards.

An AMD cpu would be cheaper.

One way to save some money is to buy a CPU that does not include onboard graphics if you're going to be using an external video card anyway, which inevitably provides better graphics performance than with any CPU that includes onboard graphics. And you could apply that savings toward a video card.

For example, I built my latest machine with an i5-3350p (Intel quad-core 3.1Ghz 6MB cache LGA1155, BX80637i53350P). Priced right.

As AddRam has stated so well. Research (homework) is the first stage of shopping. It will take a lot of time because their is so much to choose from.

Besides play games......what do you have in mind? Need a little more info on programs. Any computer made today will do some form of what you listed. Is gaming the most intensive thing you will use your PC for, or do you do picture/video editing?
