Like mentioned above you should have a good look at Haswell and Z87 mobo's.
Ah, so it was a right choice to announce my newly revamped PC build before purchasing next month. These Haswell processors, can you recommend me one that's nearly the same price or even cheaper as the i5-3570k if possible? Thanks.
Are these Z87 motherboards going to be more expensive than the P8Z77-V and compatible with all the components I listed in my original post?
As long as you ask for assistance along the way and don't do anything that you're not told to do, it'll be a piece of cake. Lots of people consider 4.5 GHz to be a bit more of an average overclock with this CPU on a motherboard like yours.
I recommend going to Overclock.net for the best overclocking help because you'll have many more people at your disposal to help you than on here. After all, that's their specialty while the focus of SevenForums is help and support as it relates to Windows 7.
This is the direct replacement for the i5-3570K: Intel Core i5-4670K
Sorry you'll need to shop UK sources or do a rough exchange rate:
Newegg.com - Computer Hardware, Motherboards, Intel Motherboards, ASUS, LGA 1150
Newegg.com - ASUS Z87-PRO LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Newegg.com - Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell 3.4GHz LGA 1150 84W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics BX80646I54670K
4.5GHz on a 3570K is a healthy overclock. Anymore and you will start to need a much better cooling solution......in my opinion.
And going with the Intel Core i5-4670K will require a different motherboard too. I just built my rig a few months ago and this thread makes me want to build another
Alright I would like to give a big thanks to you all! If I wouldn't have asked for help on SevenForums I would probably had wasted my money on old components. Now I'm sure I got the best of the best I can get with my money! Here's my revamped build:
Any more advice? There's still one month until ordering! I plan on getting the GTX 760 Ti but my "shopping system" hasn't found an entry for it. Also the Asus Z87-PLUS doesn't have prices listed yet.
