    Printer Ink

Hi. I an running Windows 7 and I just purchased a new printer, a Canon Pixma ix6520. I new that buying ink from Canon was high priced, can anyone give me a lead to a after market dealer who would have good service and lower prices then Canon.
Thank You for any help you can give me R. Ryan

Don't know about Canon per se, but I do know that some printer manufacturers have resorted to include chips with their print cartridges -- to specifically prevent folks from using other brand ink.

There are several web stores that offer both oem and aftermarket ink cartridges. My last two printers have been wireless Canon Pixma series, I use after market ink with no problems. We go through a lot of ink, sometimes two sets a month.

I have a Pixma (an older MP520) and have been refilling cartridges with no problem.

You may have to reset the printer a few times before it will accept the carts, but that's the only thing I've struck.

I use 'Calidad' brand inks, and they have the instructions on how to do so on their packaging.
