can anyone help with this as I can't find a solution anywhere every time I boot my pc up I get a "new CPU installed" message appear in bios asking me to enter setup or load default values i have done this several times entering different values into the bios and starting it on default values even thou I have been running the pc for a year I tried resetting the car CMOS switch removed and replaced the battery changed the ram sticks around, I've removed the CPU and found one of the pins was bent and straighten it
can't think what it might be

That is typical when you change a CPU. Have you gone to bios and loaded optimized defaults, save and exit? And in bios does it recognize the correct CPU you have now? are you sure the CPU is properly seated? Other than those things, all I can think of is reflash bios or call technical support who are going to probably tell you to flash bios.

sorry didn't make myself clear nothing has changed with the CPU or any other hardware it has been running in its current setup for awhile now the CPU is seated correctly and recognised its as if the CMOS battery is dead but it's brand new and I've checked the voltage on it
doesn't matter if I load up and save default values or my of settings
can't see how reflashing the bios would help as its working properly boots up and runs

That repaired bent pin may cause the system to think it is a new CPU.

On an ASUS motherboard it is recommended to perform a CPU Parameter Recall, which resets the chipset, anytime you "change" the CPU.

    • Load the BIOS defaults on the EXIT menu as Essenbe suggests.
    • Then, power down, turn off or remove the power cord from the power supply, wait at least 2 minutes, press and hold the reset button on your case for 10 seconds or so, then reconnect the power.
    • Go back into the BIOS settings and restore the BIOS defaults again. Reboot.

    That should do it.

    Not really.

You could try a CLRTC procedure, if you haven't done so already.

    • Note all your current BIOS settings
    • Shut down the computer > remove the power cord.
    • Remove the 3v battery.
    • Move the CLRTC jumper from pins 1-2 to 2-3.
    • Touch a metal part of the case and Press and Hold the reset button for approx. 30 seconds to discharge all power from the board.
    • Put the CLRTC jumper back on pins 1-2.
    • Replace the 3v battery > replace the power cord > boot.
    • Immediately go back into BIOS and reset all your preferred settings. If the CLRTC worked you will need to reset the date and time.

The only other thing I could think of is that the processor is not compatible or is defective (the pins again).

Other than those things then the BIOS chip went south. More if I think of it.

Also had a person in this forum that solved the same issue by properly installing thermal paste. Originally had too much.

this is getting stranger I replaced the bios chip and I still get the new CPU message but when I go into bios and change the settings and save them when I go into something like CPU-z it doesn't show the changes I made to the multiplier and shows it as factory settings ie 3200mhz but when I restart and go into bios it shows the changed settings I done earlier and shows the frequency at 3900
I'm totally confused and lost on this
