Unable to remove printers(printers come back after restart)

    Hi All
I spend a few hours trying to remove a few printer entries in the "Devices and Printers" directory.
Have followed a few Internet based suggestions without a chance. After reboot, the printers are back again.
I have tried multiple times including through the "Print Management". No matter what I set the default printer, it always comes back, after a restart, to the printer I want to remove.
    This is my directory listing.
Like this one, this one and a number of others.
A couple of entries are 'double' entries and the other is an old printer I do not want any longer.
Has anyone of you come across such a painful task?:)

    Thanks

Some pdf printers hang around until that program is removed.
Now when you put the big green check mark in printer (A) and open program (B)pdf it will shift that big green check mark to printer (B) which is for that program.

The normal method I use to remove a printer is just right click on it and choose remove device.
A long time ago when I had many printers that is the way it worked for me.

I recently had this happen. What I discovered was that there was a print job in the queue on that printer I was trying to remove. I kept getting a "User Mode Driver" error when trying to remove the driver from "Print Server Properties" too.

Right click on the printer and then select "See What's Printing" to check this. If there is anything there then just Cancel it, and the printer can now be removed.

The printers which cause difficulties are the Brother's.

    been there done that.
I have also deleted printers on another network machine.
I can remove the printers alright... just after restarting they come back and I have done it at least 1/2 dozen times.

Did you also already try going into the "Print Server Properties" and deleting the driver before "Removing the Device"?

If the printer is connected to the LAN, and the PC is part of the Homegroup, and Printer Sharing is on, then the printer installing itself every time the PC connects to the Network is normal behavior. If this is what is happening then you can test simply by disconnecting from the network and then trying it (disconnect from Wireless Network, or unplug the Ethernet cable).

    Done that too yesterday.
I have tried to remove drivers before the Printer, in the 'Print Management' directory, though it said it is in use.So I deleted printers first and then the drivers.

The machine is part of a Homegroup. Have pulled the cable, wireless is off. Have then removed printers and drivers from the above directory. Guess what, after restart all is back again.
A day or so ago I went through the registry and deleted all what had to do with the printers, no joy either.
Could it be that the sequence I'm doing all this is wrong?
Can't remember such a tedious job on my machine for a long time.

Do your Brother printers have a print program with them like saving things to a cloud or ordering supplies?

Yes one, the Brother MFC-J6910DW has a suite installed, though I cannot see the reason for being 4 entries in the printers and devices.
The printer;192.168.178.71#:1(Brother 7820n) has no suite installed.

Well if it was my computer and I didn't want the printer installed I would remove the suite.
