Power supply went out

    The modern PSU has many failsafe devices to protect the peripherals.
    (not like the old days when every thing went up in smoke)
    There are only about 3 OEM suppliers that label up for others.
    Move down on this link and expand the list.

    Reviews from real reviewers are the best, "reviews" in the comment section of newegg/Amazon/whatever are written by normal people that on average lack the expertise and testing equipment to say anything about a product. The lack of competent reviews is generally a bad thing for a product.

    And any brand does not make always perfect devices. It's normal and helps keep the prices affordable (increasing reliability from 90% to 99% or beyond would triple the price, if not more). That's what warranties and RMA are for.

    It's when the amount of failures out of the box goes beyond the 30% or when the label gives completely unreasonable wattage and the PSU reliably dies at half than that, when you know it's crap.

    I am finally going to mail it back to corsair tomorrow, work was busy this week and by the time I get off everything is closed. Will post an update when I hear back from them. Still have my fingers crossed, hoping for my troubles I get the upgrade since my model is discontinued.

    I called them, I will get the same model back but that is okay, it's a good psu I think. It will be here Monday per UPS tracking.
