    Simply updating the bios does not mean the cpu will work, once again, the mb HAS TO SUPPORT the new cpu.

    Find your board on the internet and see what cpu`s it will support.

    Usually this is done BEFORE you purchase any upgrades for your motherboard.

    Ok cool, so then again: what is the model of your computer? Perhaps we can see if there's a CPU Support List or something like that.

    also it isn't completely stock i have had to replace the gpu and hard drive before hand

    Can you narrow it down some more? I'm seeing computers with AMD CPUs and other parts that don't match.

    We need the exact model as written on the pc case, giving the specs really won't help when looking for the latest bios update or upgrading the cpu.
