High RAM Usage. I'm Wondering Why?

I recently installed ESET Smart Security, and now my RAM usage went from nil to 50%. I'm not sure if ESET is the culprit because I didn't notice it after the install, but I'd like to figure out what's going on. I did have to repair the GUI on ESET but still that wouldn't account for it. I use a laptop and I upgraded the RAM from 4gb to 8gb when I bought it because it was cheap and I was already throwing an SSD in it, so I don't know how it is using that much memory. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Uninstall ESET, restart the computer and then check your RAM usage. You can always re-install ESET later.

Hum mate what model is the Toshiba? Plus what do you have on start up take a loo at msconfig and see what is listed in Start up I only keep security ticked in my two Toshibas and well all of my machines.

By the same token I reckon Username has given you the best option
