Is this RAM supported by this Motherboard?

    First of all:

    Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX/GEN3 R2.0

Im planning to update my RAM to these CORSAIR CMZ8GX3M2A1600C8(2x4gb) on 16gb, I mean that pack x2.

Will this motherboard support these 4 modules? The pack is on the supported list but just the 8gb, so I don't know if these will work out or not.

At the moment I'm using just one module of these, which aren't on the supported list, because using both caused some random BSOD caused by some RAM issues (memtest86+ reported errors as well when using both), I tried out changing the bios settings as well but it didn't help, and works fine with just one module so I guess that caused problems because of the fact that the modules aren't supported by this motherboard. This is why I'm worried about supported modules

I apologize if the title isn't suitable at all, I couldn't figure out somthing more suitable.

My eyes aren't that good anymore -- but I did not see any Corsair CMZ8GX... memory included in the list you linked.

Doesn`t it tell you on the box ? You did buy this mb yourself didn`t you ?

Tells you right here on the page you linked.

    4 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR3 1866/1600/1333/1066 MHz ECC, Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
    Dual Channel Memory Architecture
    * Refer to www.asus.com or user manual for the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
    * Due to OS limitation, when installing total memory of 4GB capacity or more, Windows® 32-bit operation system may only recognize less than 3GB. Install a 64-bit Windows® OS when you want to install 4GB or more memory on the motherboard.
    * Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz.

That last line is real important, I would call Asus and ask them what they`re talking about. But I don`t see why it wouldn`t work, but call them 1st.

    Hi

I run G-skill 2400 ram(got them @ reasonable price by a fluke) on my pc's even though they both run at 1866 at present.

One is an Asus Sabertooth Amd version 1 with 8150 bulldozer, other is A85xFM2 board.

I will uprade later this year to higher spec AMD processors which are designed to run at 2100/2400? natural speed - so ram is already capable

check post 26 on thread below on how to make your ram run quicker than default 1333 speed
(I dont know if this still applies to version 3 Amd Sabertooth bios)

Sabertooth 990FX wont let me set ram to 1866
