device manager is not detecting my webcam

    device manager is not detecting my webcam


    yesterday i uninstalled the webcam driver via device manager and i installed dell webcam central.but now dell webcam central is showing "please plugin a supported device".and the device manager does not detect my webcam(it dosent even have the colum imaging devices) ,and face recognition is saying ,"unable to process biometric data please check camera"
    my laptop details:M11x R2 Specs & Latest News | Alienware | The Verge please help me

    Webcam Central is the software, you will still need the driver for the webcam. is this a USB camera? When you plug it in you should be prompted in the notification area of a hardware change and have the option to install the driver.

    I'm not sure if this will work, but right-click your computer in Device Manager (the trunk of the tree at the very, very top) and choose "Scan for hardware changes".

    Failing this, you could try this: open the Devices and Printers control panel and click "Add a device" located on the toolbar.

    If all else fails, you may need to do a system restore to a date before you uninstalled that webcam driver.

    Type system restore on the Start Menu search bar. Open System Restore and choose a date before you uninstalled that webcam driver.

    You may also use a trial software such as Driver Magician to search and download the correct driver for the webcam to try and get it working again.
