    External hard drive not detected

    Hi guys,

My computer cannot detect my 250GB external hard drive and I'm having a hard time fixing this issue, and I've been searching for the problem to be fixed in the internet, unfortunately nothing was found. Before this issue happened, there was no problem, it was working fine until I did something with the registry-cleaning and such. However, my external hard drive can be detected by other computers, and I don't know why my computer can't detect it.

Does anyone of you know what the cause of this problem? I'd be glad if you can help with this problem.

    Hi Frankier77,

I understand that you have checked this harddrive on a different system and it worked fine. As you said issue occurred after you made changes on the system so you can try doing a system restore:

    System Restore

Also, kindly post a screenshot of your device manager and disk management. Check instructions here:

Wait a minute, it worked fine, then you ran a registry cleaner and now it doesn`t work ? You answered your own question. There is no reason to mess with the registry if you don`t know what you`re doing.

    Try a system file check.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Or better yet just do a system restore.
