How to get printer to fax from computer?

Printer - Lexmark Pro915. Connected to computer wirelessly and USB

I am having trouble getting my computer to fax. Presently, when using the LM fax wizard, the printer doesn't fax, but it does print out that which is to be faxed...then I use the printer to fax, which it does. The printer does print directly from the computer. I have a feeling the problem lays within my not managing the inputs for the printers. Here's pic of this setup:

Really don't know what I'm doing with all these same printers. Obviously, I need some help...

Do you have a separate phone number for the fax?
I do believe Fax is default.
I also know little about Fax. I have never used it.

Go to Start Orb and select Help and Support. Then type in
Fax and their should be some more information on how to set up a Fax.

The LM tutorial confirms that the printer appears to be setup correctly.

Tried Windows Fax and Scan. When trying to send a test fax, got the following error message:

"The message could not be sent. The media is write protected."-- What doe sthis mean?

    Next?

Thanks. I got rid of that error message. But it now appears that the computer is not detectig a dial tone. Could be that I don't have the computer properly hooked up to the phone. However, let me ask:

If I use Windows fax/scan, does the transmission have to go through my printer, or is it directly from computer to phone?

Can faxes be received by both the computer and the printer at the same time, or is it just one or the other for each fax? Where are the settings?

EDIT: I obviously am missing something in the fax set up as when I go to Print>Properties>there is no Fax Tab. I need to know how to get the fax tab functioning in Print>Properties

Does your computer have a built in phone modem or an add in phone modem card ? Is there a phone modem jack port available & connected to a phone line line with a dial tone ?

I've gotten everything to work as it had in the past and now believe that I can't fax directly from the computer...unless I pay for a fax service, which I'm not about to do. So, this leaves me with faxing directly from the printer, which I had always been doing before I got the bug to computer fax. My only problem with faxing through the printer is when I use MS Word's fax wizard and finish off with Send Fax, the info goes to the printer, but the printer will print out the fax (not send it) and then I have to place the print out back into the printer and press the Fax button to send. A PITA, but I don't fax that often to make a difference...just wanted to have the convenience of faxing directly from computer.

You might want to check out this program. I have a friend using it for 3 years.

ElectraSoft try before you buy FaxMail for Windows software.
